AI break. Today, we'll cover the fundamentals.
A personal reflection on 2025: when body and mind are in good shape, everything else is easier. Work is better. Decisions are better. Results are better.
Hi!
End of 2025.
Today I could write about everything we tested, what I wrote about, what marked 2025 the most, etc.
But I won’t.
Today’s issue won’t sound like the others.
Today I won’t write about AI. Not about prompts. Not about tools.
I’ll look back at the past year and how I feel.
I’ll use this newsletter to dig a bit deeper.
Today I’ll try to understand the fundamentals.
I’m thinking about energy, health, and well-being. Physical and mental.
Why?
Because this year I felt crystal clear: when body and mind are “clean” and in good shape, everything else is easier. Work is better. Decisions are better. Results are better.
And I’m better too.
Let’s start with fundamental #1. You could say with fuel…
- Food: when it was good, everything was good
I had periods of “good nutrition” and periods of “bad.” But the difference wasn’t just in the belly.
It was in energy and motivation. And when I think about it, probably consequently in results too.
Three simple things that first came to mind:
- Water: in the morning and throughout the day
- Vitamins: every day at least one fruit + some vegetables
- Plain yogurt (ok, this probably isn’t for everyone, but it really works for me)
I don’t intend to elaborate on meals…
That’s it in short, but I have a feeling if I stick to this in 2026, it will be excellent.
- Exercise: two separate systems
Body and mind each need their own “reset”.
a) BODY
- Sport: minimum 1x per week workout to break a sweat. If more often, even better.
- Movement: every day a walk + fresh air
- Cold shower: but not when I’m physically and mentally completely exhausted
- Conscious breathing: when I’m under stress, I breathe shallowly. Breathe consciously as long as possible during the day.
I could elaborate here. Because this year I got much worse at every bullet point. In 2026 I’ll need to be more consistent.
b) MIND
- Disconnect: family, friends, nature, screen-free time.
- Meditation: In 2026 I’m bringing it back to mornings and evenings. But not to calm down, but to train observation of thoughts. The better you are at this, the better you can direct them. P.s.: everything starts as a thought.
- Content that interests me: podcasts, YouTube, books
- Positive music: headphones or good sound system and music out loud. This is also fuel for my soul (and body).
One more “trick” that helps me: when I get stuck somewhere and I try, try, but there’s no real progress, or I don’t feel good, I’m spinning in bad thoughts, it always helps if I change the environment and start moving.
Change of energy. Different thoughts. Better feeling. And then it works.
There’s surely more to find. And everyone probably has slightly different fundamentals.
But I hope I’ve helped you at least a little to think about what yours are.
Which ones bring you to better well-being, energy, and ultimately results.
And thank you for reading this, because if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t write about this and consequently wouldn’t think this way.
So now that I’ve made this conscious… all that remains is execution. Easy, right? 😅
Maybe I’ll print this out and stick it on the wall to remind me every day.
Happy and healthy new year. With the best fundamentals possible! 🙂
